I am THE VINE; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit.
For apart from me you can do nothing.
John 15:5
One of the best analogies of God as the Vine, is to consider yourself as a branch. As long as a branch is connected to The Vine, planted by its roots (or its source) it gets the nutrients it needs to produce fruit, and to stay alive; but the moment the branch is removed from The Vine, it loses its “source” of life, and will eventually be good only as a nice addition to your scorching fireplace.
We at Amana believe that JESUS is our TRUE VINE. From The Vine, we believe…
We receive Life – John 14:6 NIV. Jesus answered “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
We are made Righteous – Romans 5:19 NIV. “For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.”
We will Produce Good Fruit – Colossians 1:10 NIV “so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,”
We will Bring Joy – Psalms 32:11 NLT “So rejoice in the Lord and be glad, all you who obey him! Shout for joy, all you whose hearts are pure!”
Beware that you don’t look down on any of these little ones.
For I tell you that in heaven their angels are always in the presence of my heavenly Father.
Matthew 18:10 (NLT)
If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them wanders away, what will he do?
Won’t he leave the ninety-nine others on the hills and go out to search for the one that is lost?
And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, he will rejoice over it more than over the ninety-nine that didn’t wander away!
In the same way, it is not my heavenly Father’s will that even one of these little ones should perish.
Matthew 18:12-14 (NLT)
